Assist Strap is fitted to the Kia door structure and is one of the parts that fails first once the door has been used for a few years. Genuine Kia part number 85340-3F40029.
The mechanism wears before the panel does, so a door that drops, sticks or will not latch usually needs this part rather than a new shell. Trim level affects whether the door carries a sensor, a soft-close or a keyless aerial, so confirm the original part number first.
Access is from inside the door, so removing the trim panel is part of the job — order new panel clips if the originals are brittle.
Door Check Straps Assist Strap replacement for Kia. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
