Frequently Asked Questions

Fitment, paint, freight and return questions about import auto body panels, lighting and exterior parts at ImportAutoBodyParts.

Fitment and finish

How do I know a bumper or fender will fit my exact trim level?

Fitment is decided by year, model, body style and trim — not by the model name alone. Two cars that look identical can take different bumper covers when one is a sport trim or has parking sensors. Use the year / make / model selector on the product page, then compare the part number against the label on the back of the original panel before you order.

Are the panels painted, or do they need a body shop?

Unless the listing states a factory colour code, body panels ship in a raw or primed finish so your painter can match the vehicle. Paint matching is a separate step and is not included in the part price. Lights and mirrors are supplied as complete assemblies and need no paint work.

Will the mounting clips and brackets be included?

Retainers, brackets, absorbers and wiring harnesses are frequently sold separately by the manufacturer, and the listing says exactly what is in the box. If you are replacing a damaged bumper cover, plan on new clips — the originals usually break on removal. We list the matching hardware on the same product page where it exists.

My model year is not listed. Can you still source the part?

Often yes. Our catalog reflects current supplier stock rather than the full parts universe, so an absent listing does not mean the panel is discontinued. Send the VIN, the part you need and a photo of the damaged area and we will check availability, colour options and lead time for you.

Shipping and freight

How quickly will an order ship, and how long is transit?

In-stock items leave the warehouse within 1–2 business days. Ground transit is typically 3-7 business days inside the contiguous United States. Oversized items such as hoods and door shells travel by freight and are scheduled with you by phone before delivery.

What order value qualifies for free shipping?

Ground shipping is free once the cart passes $58. Below that, live carrier rates appear at checkout before payment. Freight-class oversize panels are quoted individually because they ship on a pallet rather than in a parcel.

Can you ship body panels to Canada, Alaska or Hawaii?

Checkout is built for United States addresses. For Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or export orders, message us first with the part number and postal code — we will confirm whether freight can reach you and quote the cost before you commit.

Orders, returns and warranty

I picked the wrong colour or side. Can the order still be changed?

Reach out right away. While the order is still in the picking queue we can normally swap the side, colour or address at no charge. After the parcel is handed to the carrier the shipment cannot be recalled, and the standard return process applies instead.

The panel arrived bent or the wrong side was shipped. What now?

Photograph the carton, the shipping label and the damage before you discard anything, and email us within 48 hours of delivery. Freight damage and mis-shipments are corrected at our cost, including return freight. Do not bolt a panel on before we have seen the photos — once it is mounted we cannot file a carrier claim.

Which items cannot be returned once opened?

Painted or installed panels, cut-to-length mouldings, special-order colours and electrical assemblies that have been plugged in cannot be resold and are not returnable. Everything else follows the 30-day window from delivery, unused and in the original packaging.

Do you sell to collision shops and rebuilders at trade pricing?

Yes. Body shops, rebuilders and resellers ordering in quantity can request a quote — send the part numbers, quantities and your resale certificate if you have one. Tier pricing depends on the item and the volume of the order.

Where do I find the invoice for a completed order?

A confirmation email goes out the moment the order is placed, and the receipt is attached to the dispatch notice. If you need a duplicate, or the invoice has to carry a shop name and tax ID, email the order number and we will reissue it.

Do these parts carry a warranty?

Coverage comes from the manufacturer, and we pass it through and help you file the claim. We do not add a separate store warranty. Wear items and consumables — bulbs, adhesives, clips and fasteners — are normally excluded once they have been used.

Why do two listings for the same panel show different prices?

A genuine OEM panel and a certified aftermarket panel are separate products and never share a price, even when both fit the same car. Where two listings look like duplicates, the difference is usually the brand, the finish (primed versus textured) or whether hardware is bundled — check the title and the fitment note on each page.
