Buying guide: Fenders & Quarter Panels

They are the panels that take stone chips, road spray and salt directly, which is why corrosion usually starts at the arch lip or behind the wheel liner long before it is visible on the outer face.

Our range covers front fenders, rear quarter panels and the wheelhouse liners and splash shields that sit behind them, for Kia, Nissan, Mazda and Volvo models. Liners are worth replacing with the panel: a cracked liner lets water and grit into the cavity behind the fender, and that is where the rust starts.

Panels are handed and body-style specific. A sedan fender does not fit a wagon, and the arch profile changes at a facelift even when the door and hood are unchanged. Check for aerial holes, side-repeater cut-outs and cladding mounting provisions before ordering.

Body panels ship in a raw or primed finish. Trial-fit before paint so the door gap and the hood shut line can be set on bare metal, and apply seam sealer and cavity wax along the inner joints afterwards.
