Windshield closes an opening in the Kia body and, on modern cars, contributes to the stiffness of the shell. Genuine Kia part number 86110-C6190.
Glass fails by chipping, cracking or delaminating at the edge, and once a crack reaches the edge it will not stop growing with temperature cycling. Glazing is body-style and option specific — check for rain sensors, heated zones, acoustic laminate and antennae in the glass.
Urethane-bonded glazing requires a professional installer with the correct primer and adhesive.
