Glass fails by chipping, cracking or delaminating at the edge, and once a crack reaches the edge it will not stop growing with temperature cycling. Match the model year: a facelift can change the glass silhouette while the door shell stays the same.
Check the surrounding trim and clips at the same time, as they are usually renewed with the glass.
