Lift-Gate Latch is part of the door assembly on your Mazda and carries load every time the door is opened, closed or locked. Genuine Mazda part number zzca62671.
Water ingress past a failed seal corrodes the internal linkage, which is why the symptom appears suddenly after a wet season. Fits 2001-2011 Mazda Tribute as listed. Trim level affects whether the door carries a sensor, a soft-close or a keyless aerial, so confirm the original part number first.
Access is from inside the door, so removing the trim panel is part of the job — order new panel clips if the originals are brittle.
Door Latches Lift-Gate Latch replacement for Mazda. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
