Latch mounts inside the Kia door shell and takes the wear that repeated use puts on the door. Genuine Kia part number 81230-H9011.
Water ingress past a failed seal corrodes the internal linkage, which is why the symptom appears suddenly after a wet season. Front and rear doors use different part numbers even when the handle or hinge looks identical.
Check the door alignment after fitting, as a worn part often masks a hinge that also needs adjustment.
Door Latches Latch replacement for Kia. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
