Glove Box Latch is part of the door assembly on your Volvo and carries load every time the door is opened, closed or locked. Genuine Volvo part number 8660305.
Water ingress past a failed seal corrodes the internal linkage, which is why the symptom appears suddenly after a wet season. Front and rear doors use different part numbers even when the handle or hinge looks identical.
Access is from inside the door, so removing the trim panel is part of the job — order new panel clips if the originals are brittle.
Door Latches Glove Box Latch replacement for Volvo. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
