Folding Seat Latch is part of the door assembly on your Volvo and carries load every time the door is opened, closed or locked. Genuine Volvo part number 30640108.
Water ingress past a failed seal corrodes the internal linkage, which is why the symptom appears suddenly after a wet season. Front and rear doors use different part numbers even when the handle or hinge looks identical.
Check the door alignment after fitting, as a worn part often masks a hinge that also needs adjustment.
