Assist Strap is part of the door assembly on your Kia and carries load every time the door is opened, closed or locked. Genuine Kia part number 85340-D4100WK.
Water ingress past a failed seal corrodes the internal linkage, which is why the symptom appears suddenly after a wet season. Trim level affects whether the door carries a sensor, a soft-close or a keyless aerial, so confirm the original part number first.
Check the door alignment after fitting, as a worn part often masks a hinge that also needs adjustment.
Door Check Straps Assist Strap replacement for Kia. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
