Assist Strap is part of the door assembly on your Kia and carries load every time the door is opened, closed or locked. Genuine Kia part number 82740-3E0116W.
Water ingress past a failed seal corrodes the internal linkage, which is why the symptom appears suddenly after a wet season. Trim level affects whether the door carries a sensor, a soft-close or a keyless aerial, so confirm the original part number first.
No paint required; the part mounts behind the door trim panel.
Door Check Straps Assist Strap replacement for Kia. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
