Buying guide: Doors & Components

The hinge bushes drop, the check strap snaps, the window regulator cable frays and the handle mechanism loses its return spring — and each of those shows up as a different symptom: a door that drops when you open it, a door that will not stay at a part-open position, a window that goes down but not up, a handle that feels dead.

We carry the door assemblies, shells, handles (inside and outside), hinges, latches, lock actuators, check straps, seals, window regulators and window channels for Kia, Nissan, Mazda and Volvo passenger cars and SUVs.

Door parts are handed. A left front door handle is not the same part as the right, and front and rear doors almost never share hardware even when the handle looks identical. Trim level matters too: a car with keyless entry has an aerial in the handle, and a car with a soft-close or a self-presenting door has additional hardware behind the trim.

If the door itself is being replaced, order the panel clips and the door seal at the same time. Reusing a compressed seal is the usual reason a repaired door leaks or whistles afterwards.
