Valance Panel is a body fitting on the Volvo that the exterior panels and trim depend on to stay located. Genuine Volvo part number 31214654.
Original fittings become brittle with age and heat cycles, which is why a clip that held for ten years snaps the first time it is disturbed. Match by part number — body hardware is dimension-critical and a 1 mm difference in shank or reach is enough to stop it seating.
Do not over-torque these fittings — the plastic or thin-gauge body panel strips before the fitting does.
Panels & Extensions Valance Panel replacement for Volvo. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
