Upper Hinge – Passenger Side (RH) mounts inside the Kia door shell and takes the wear that repeated use puts on the door. Genuine Kia part number 79420-2D000. This listing is for the right-hand (passenger side on US models) part.
Water ingress past a failed seal corrodes the internal linkage, which is why the symptom appears suddenly after a wet season. Trim level affects whether the door carries a sensor, a soft-close or a keyless aerial, so confirm the original part number first.
Access is from inside the door, so removing the trim panel is part of the job — order new panel clips if the originals are brittle.
