Upper Hinge is fitted to the Kia door structure and is one of the parts that fails first once the door has been used for a few years. Genuine Kia part number 79320 2V000.
Water ingress past a failed seal corrodes the internal linkage, which is why the symptom appears suddenly after a wet season. Front and rear doors use different part numbers even when the handle or hinge looks identical.
Access is from inside the door, so removing the trim panel is part of the job — order new panel clips if the originals are brittle.
Door Hinges Upper Hinge replacement for Kia. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
