Upper Hinge – Driver’s Side (LH) is fitted to the Volvo door structure and is one of the parts that fails first once the door has been used for a few years. Genuine Volvo part number 31218722. This listing is for the left-hand (driver side on US models) part.
Broken returns springs, stretched cables and worn pivots show up as a handle with no resistance or a door that needs a slam. Front and rear doors use different part numbers even when the handle or hinge looks identical.
Access is from inside the door, so removing the trim panel is part of the job — order new panel clips if the originals are brittle.
