Tailgate Hinge Spacer is fitted to the Nissan door structure and is one of the parts that fails first once the door has been used for a few years. Genuine Nissan part number 93454-9FU2A.
Water ingress past a failed seal corrodes the internal linkage, which is why the symptom appears suddenly after a wet season. Front and rear doors use different part numbers even when the handle or hinge looks identical.
Access is from inside the door, so removing the trim panel is part of the job — order new panel clips if the originals are brittle.
Door Hinges Tailgate Hinge Spacer replacement for Nissan. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
