Splash Shield is the panel around the Mazda wheel opening that carries the arch line and shields the inner structure. Genuine Mazda part number gj2156330d.
These panels take stone chips and road spray directly, so corrosion usually starts at the arch lip or behind the liner long before it shows on the outer face. Panels are handed and body-style specific; confirm the side and whether the car is a sedan, coupe or wagon.
Seam sealer and cavity wax are required along the inner joints after fitting to keep corrosion out.
