Molding is the exterior trim strip on the Kia that carries the character line and shields the paint underneath from impact. Genuine Kia part number 86522-C6210.
UV exposure dulls the original finish and the mounting channel cracks, which is why a trim strip that is still attached can look sun-bleached and pitted. Length and clip spacing differ between sedan, hatch and wagon bodies even where the model name is the same.
If your original used double-sided tape, clean the panel with a wax remover before fitting the new strip.
