The mirror folds on a spring detent that wears out, which shows up as a housing that will not stay folded or will not lock back into place. A mirror with a turn-signal repeater has a different wiring connector from a plain one, even though the housing looks the same.
Glass is supplied ready to fit; take care not to touch the reflective surface when seating it.
