Mirror Base is the Volvo door mirror part that takes the brunt of kerb strikes and car-wash brushes. Genuine Volvo part number 31477681.
Heated glass delaminates and the mirror motor strips its gears, so a mirror that will not adjust or will not clear usually needs this part rather than the whole assembly. A mirror with a turn-signal repeater has a different wiring connector from a plain one, even though the housing looks the same.
Housing parts ship in a raw or textured black finish; painted covers need colour-matching.
Mirror Assemblies Mirror Base replacement for Volvo. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
