Mirror Base is the side mirror component on your Volvo, providing the rearward view the driver depends on for lane changes. Genuine Volvo part number 31424818.
The mirror folds on a spring detent that wears out, which shows up as a housing that will not stay folded or will not lock back into place. A mirror with a turn-signal repeater has a different wiring connector from a plain one, even though the housing looks the same.
Test the adjustment and fold functions before refitting the door trim.
