Lift-Gate Pull Handle is part of the door assembly on your Volvo and carries load every time the door is opened, closed or locked. Genuine Volvo part number 39813456.
Water ingress past a failed seal corrodes the internal linkage, which is why the symptom appears suddenly after a wet season. Front and rear doors use different part numbers even when the handle or hinge looks identical.
No paint required; the part mounts behind the door trim panel.
Door Handles Lift-Gate Pull Handle replacement for Volvo. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
