Latch is fitted to the Kia door structure and is one of the parts that fails first once the door has been used for a few years. Genuine Kia part number 89730-1M500.
Broken returns springs, stretched cables and worn pivots show up as a handle with no resistance or a door that needs a slam. Front and rear doors use different part numbers even when the handle or hinge looks identical.
Check the door alignment after fitting, as a worn part often masks a hinge that also needs adjustment.
Door Latches Latch replacement for Kia. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
