Hood Release Handle mounts inside the Mazda door shell and takes the wear that repeated use puts on the door. Genuine Mazda part number zzca56625.
Water ingress past a failed seal corrodes the internal linkage, which is why the symptom appears suddenly after a wet season. Fits 2008-2011 Mazda Tribute as listed. Door hardware is handed — left and right are different parts. Check the side marked on the listing against the door you are repairing.
Check the door alignment after fitting, as a worn part often masks a hinge that also needs adjustment.
