Hood Panel is one of the small body fittings on your Mazda that hold trim, panels and seals in place. Genuine Mazda part number vay05231xb.
These parts are consumed rather than repaired: they break on removal, corrode, or lose their grip and let the panel they retain move. Match by part number — body hardware is dimension-critical and a 1 mm difference in shank or reach is enough to stop it seating.
Do not over-torque these fittings — the plastic or thin-gauge body panel strips before the fitting does.
Panels & Extensions Hood Panel replacement for Mazda. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
