Handle Base is a body fitting on the Kia that the exterior panels and trim depend on to stay located. Genuine Kia part number 82665-C5000.
Once the fitting fails the surrounding parts work loose and start to chafe, so replacing the small part early prevents damage to the panel it holds. Match by part number — body hardware is dimension-critical and a 1 mm difference in shank or reach is enough to stop it seating.
Do not over-torque these fittings — the plastic or thin-gauge body panel strips before the fitting does.
