Fender forms the wheel-arch structure on the Volvo, protecting the tyre cavity from road spray and debris. Genuine Volvo part number 31651317.
Because the arch traps mud and salt, a panel that looks sound can be structurally thin behind the lip. Model year facelifts often change the arch profile even where the door and hood are unchanged.
Trial-fit the panel before paint so any adjustment at the door gap is done on bare metal.
Fenders Fender replacement for Volvo. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
