Fender Liner is the panel around the Kia wheel opening that carries the arch line and shields the inner structure. Genuine Kia part number 86812-CV000.
Impact damage from a wheel strike or a minor collision distorts the panel and breaks the liner mounts, which then lets water into the cavity. Model year facelifts often change the arch profile even where the door and hood are unchanged.
Seam sealer and cavity wax are required along the inner joints after fitting to keep corrosion out.
