Door Edge Guard mounts inside the Volvo door shell and takes the wear that repeated use puts on the door. Genuine Volvo part number 8635396.
The mechanism wears before the panel does, so a door that drops, sticks or will not latch usually needs this part rather than a new shell. Front and rear doors use different part numbers even when the handle or hinge looks identical.
No paint required; the part mounts behind the door trim panel.
Doors Door Edge Guard replacement for Volvo. Cross-check the part number against the component you are removing before ordering.
