Bumper Insulator is a body-side fitting on the Mazda — small, inexpensive, and usually the reason a larger panel will not sit flush. Genuine Mazda part number FD01-34-003.
Original fittings become brittle with age and heat cycles, which is why a clip that held for ten years snaps the first time it is disturbed. Match by part number — body hardware is dimension-critical and a 1 mm difference in shank or reach is enough to stop it seating.
Do not over-torque these fittings — the plastic or thin-gauge body panel strips before the fitting does.
