Buying guide: Interior Trim

Door cards, quarter trim, pillar trim and the finishers around handles and switches take the wear that opening and closing a door puts on them, and they are the first thing to rattle, gape or stain.

Our range covers door trim panels, interior quarter panels, pillar trim, door finishers and the small handle surrounds that go with them, for Kia, Nissan, Mazda and Volvo models.

Interior panels fail at the clips rather than the panel. A trim that rattles, drops at one corner or gapes along the top edge usually needs new clips and a sound insulation pad, not a whole new card. Sun exposure through the glass makes the plastic brittle and shrinks the vinyl, which is why the top edge lifts first and the clip towers crack.

Trim panels are handed and trim-level specific. A panel for a car with manual windows has no switch cut-out, a car with memory seats has an extra switch bank, and a car with a puddle lamp has a cut-out in the base. Water from a door seal or a sunroof drain finds the back of the panel first, so staining often points at a leak rather than at the trim.
